Annual CVRM Backpack Drive Helps Kids Be Ready for School

Backpack Drive Collection Timeline:

  • Box drop-off begins: June 29
  • Box pick-up: August 4

Backpack Drive (Drive-Thru Event)

Date: Saturday, August 8
Time: 7:00 AM

  • Open to all Coachella Valley residents, first come, first served until supplies last
  • Children must be present 
  • Ages 0–17

The beginning of the next school year is right around the corner, with summer approaching and days flying by. Unfortunately, many children in our community do not have what they need to start the school year, to do their homework, or to proser in their education.

Statistics show that thousands of children in the Coachella Valley will start the school year underprepared to do their classwork and homework, but change is possible. Your donation of funding, school supplies, and backpacks can make a difference in the lives of the children in our community.

With your help, through donations online or in person at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, we can provide children with the school supplies they need to start the school year successfully.

How Can You Help?

  • Make a monetary donation online or in person at the mission at:
    • 47470 Van Buren St. in Indio, CA
  • Purchase supplies from our shopping list and drop them off at the Mission before August 4th, 2026.
  • Purchase supplies from CVRM’s Amazon Registry to be Delivered Directly to CVRM
  • We can shop for you! We will buy and fill a backpack for you.
