What Are My Legacy Giving Options?
Planned Giving/Bequests
A bequest is a gift of personal property or money that is given via a will after a person dies. A donation via a bequest is one of the easiest ways to make a lasting, memorable impact with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. You can name CVRM in your will or trust as a beneficiary of a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other provisions.
We offer a sample of the language used in these cases to make the process easy and simple:
“I give [specific dollar amount or percentage] to Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization located at 47470 Van Buren St., Indio, CA 92201, Tax ID 95-2684844, to be used for its general purposes.”
Including the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in your estate plans ensures that your compassion and purpose live on, helping the less fortunate, the homeless, and the hungry for generations to come.
Planned gifts can include:
- Wills
- Living trusts
- Life insurance policies
- Retirement assets
If you have included Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in your bequests, please let us know so that we can rejoice and express our gratitude.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
One way to provide a life-changing donation to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission is to recommend a grant to CVRM directly through your Donor-Advised Fund. A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving avenue by which donors can make an immediate tax-deductible donation to a charity while additionally recommending grants to other qualified charities in the future. Another way to think of this option is as a charitable savings account where the donor receives tax benefits and can advise as to where the funds will go.
We are grateful to accept gifts from all major providers, including but not limited to:
- American Endowment Foundation
- Bank of America Charitable Giving
- BNY Mellon Charitable Gift Fund
- Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund
- Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund
